The Blue Duke Dancers made history in August 2015, as a non-competitive showcase team - the first of its kind at Whitefish Bay High School. After an amazing reception by the student body and community, we set our goals high to become an award winning, competitive dance team - in the Summer of 2016, we transitioned from a school club to a varsity athletic team.
In the 2016-2017 season, we began competing in Hip Hop and Pom. The dance program will continue to grow, with the ultimate goal of competing in all four genres: Pom, Hip Hop, Jazz and Kick. Featured small groups and duets are also entered in competitions. This requires our team to be comprised of members who are entirely focused on growth, working as a team, and being in a positive environment.
In 2020, the team earned their spot at the WACPC State Dance Championships for the first time in school history. They competed the Division 3 Pom category and placed 12th in the state. It was a positive, exciting and inspiring experience for the team. Not only did they earn the opportunity to compete at the highest level of high school dance in Wisconsin, but they made connections with other coaches and dancers and were able to soak in the high level of talent and energy that State dance offers.
Blue Duke Dancers must be DEDICATED, STRONG, AND VERSATILE.
